Data controller
The controller responsible for processing your personal data on this site is the Mamaweeks site operator. Contact: info@mamaweeks.com
Which data we process
- Account data: the email address, display name and password you provide when registering. The password is stored only in encrypted form by Google Firebase Authentication; it is not visible to us.
- Tracking data (optional): if you choose to save it, your pregnancy start date, your baby’s birth date and sex, and percentile measurements (age in months, weight, length, head circumference). This is health-related data; it is processed only when you choose to save it and can be seen only from your account.
- Community content: topics, comments and votes you post in the forum or blog. Published content is public.
- Technical data: the hosting server keeps standard log records such as IP address, browser information and access time to keep the site secure and working.
Purposes and legal bases
We process your data to manage your account, provide forum and tracking features, keep the site secure and moderate inappropriate content.
Legal bases: performance of a contract (your account), legitimate interests (security and moderation) and, for health data, your explicit consent (your choice to save tracking data). You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your tracking data or writing to us.
Who receives your data
- Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore): account and content data are stored on Google’s cloud infrastructure, so data may be processed on servers outside Turkey or your country of residence, under safeguards required by applicable law.
- Hosting provider (Güzel Hosting, Turkey): serves the site’s files and keeps server logs.
- YouTube (Google): videos on the Kids Songs page load from the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com domain; opening that page makes your browser connect to YouTube.
We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.
Cookies and local storage
We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and we serve fonts from our own server. When you sign in, Firebase Authentication keeps an essential session record in your browser (local storage/IndexedDB) so you stay signed in; it is removed when you sign out. Consent is not required for these essential records. If we add analytics or advertising tools in the future, we will ask for your explicit consent first.
Retention
Your account and tracking data are kept until you delete your account or ask us to delete it. Server logs are kept under legal obligations and the hosting provider’s policy.
Children’s data
The site is intended for parents and expecting parents. We recommend that people under 18 do not create accounts. Only save information about your baby (birth date, measurements) as a parent or legal guardian.
Your rights
Under the GDPR (if you are in the EU/EEA) and Turkish Law No. 6698 (KVKK), you have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, restrict or object to processing, data portability and to withdraw consent.
To exercise these rights, write to info@mamaweeks.com; we respond within the period required by law (at most 30 days). You may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in Turkey, the Personal Data Protection Authority).
Security
We protect your data with Firebase security rules, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access restrictions. No internet transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We may update this policy; the current version is published on this page. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page.
